Dr. Dean Kumpuris, Jane Rogers, Lucy Jackson and Dorsey Jackson began a movement to place public art in the downtown area of Little Rock. Sculpture at the River Market, Inc. was born from the idea and is now entering its tenth year. Revenue from the Sculpture at the River Market Show and Sale and private donations have funded the more than three-million-dollar collection of over 90 works of public art in Little Rock.

A majority of the sculpture is installed in the premier Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden in downtown Little Rock Riverfront Park. The Garden is made possible through the support of the Vogel family and the Vogel Schwartz Foundation.

The Garden features natural terraces and walkways designed by the City of Little Rock’s Leland Couch and Mark Webre. The design creates a more intimate space to view the works within the park and is ideal for hosting receptions, as well as allowing visitors to enjoy sculpture in solitude. This dynamic Garden is located east of the Little Rock Marriott Hotel and west of the River Market.
