Sculpture at the River Market (SATRM) is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization which is funded primarily through private donations and the proceeds from its annual Sculpture At The River Market Show & Sale.
This $3 million+ collection of over 80 works of public art is placed in beautiful surroundings along the banks of the Arkansas River in Little Rock, Arkansas. A majority of the sculpture is installed in the premiere Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden, which is made possible through the support of the Vogel Schwartz Foundation. Admission is free to all.
The sculpture garden features natural terraces and walkways designed by City of Little Rock’s Leland Couch, Mark Webre and John Kinkade of the National Sculptors’ Guild. The design creates a more intimate space to view smaller works within Riverfront Park and is ideal for hosting receptions, as well as allowing visitors to enjoy the sculptures in solitude. It is currently under expansion, but still open to the public. This dynamic sculpture garden is located north of the Little Rock Marriott Hotel and east toward the River Market.
Sculpture At The River Market will present its 10th annual Show & Sale on April 21-23, 2017. The weekend begins with a festive Preview Party, a ticketed event held on the Friday night; in 2016 the party was attended by over 400 guests, and we anticipate an equally successful Preview Party on April 21, 2017. Hundreds of sculptures, from internationally recognized artists chosen for the 2017 Show & Sale will be on display and sold in a party setting in the River Market Pavilions. This exquisite evening, featuring food, libations, live entertainment and more, allows party guests the first opportunity to meet and visit with the 50 juried artists while viewing and purchasing works. Additionally all patrons at the Preview Party will vote for their top three favorites of the semifinalists proposals for the $60,000 Public Art Monument Commission Competition (funded by SATRM). At 9PM that same evening, the three finalists will be announced.
On Saturday and Sunday (April 22 and 23) admission is always free to Sculpture At The River Market’s Show & Sale. Last year more than 2,500 visitors populated the Pavilions to see and purchase works of all media, style, subject matter, and size. On Sunday, the winner of the Public Art Monument Commission Competition will be announced.
